Tips for Finding the Best Chiang Mai Hotels

Staying at the best Chiang Mai hotels facilitates your enjoying several types of activities, including elephant rides in the jungle, visiting ethnic hill tribes, and enjoying a pulsating nightlife. Although tranquil and peaceful, Chiang Mai comes to life during April, during the Songkran festival. To find Chiang Mai hotels that charge competitive prices, you can search on reputed travel agent websites. These websites offer extensive choices in terms of the number, services, amenities, rates, location and packages. Here are more tips for finding the best Chiang Mai hotels:

* Ask for special discounts if you intend to stay for more than three days. Many hotels offer discounts, such as breakfast for two, Wi-Fi internet access, free island tours, free airport/hotel transfers, free use of bicycles, and flexible check-in and check-out timings.

* Check if they are well-connected to tourist attractions. If you will be at the hotel for most part of the day, look for beautiful surroundings. For instance, look for those situated among lush tropical forests, or those overlooking rugged mountains or terraced rice fields, as per your taste.

* Ask if the rooms are luxurious and well-appointed with, say, a fridge, satellite TV, prompt room services, clean bathrooms, comfortable beds and air-conditioning, among others.

* Ask for additional discounts for those reserving double rooms or for booking rooms on twin-sharing basis. Online bookings also attract more discounts than telephone booking.

For better room location, you can consider scheduling your trip during mid-week. As weekends attract a huge holiday crowd, hotel room rates increases and you may not get your preferred room.

  • to choose the HSBC Secure Key version you prefer between HSBC Secure Key Mobile and HSBC Secure Key (token)
  • to personalise your new access information : by choosing your memorable question and answer, setting your alphanumeric password and setting your two security questions.

HSBC Secure Key is a two-factor authentication device that will help protect you from internet banking fraud. It will generate a unique security code each time you log on to your accounts, whether from your PC or your mobile phone.

Securing your sensitive transactions in your customer area

For additional security when you add new bank details online,

Update my details" section.

Encryption of your information

The public site www.hsbc.fr and the secure Internet banking website are secured by SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protocols to encrypt
the data.

HSBC France is therefore EVSSL (Extended Validation Secure Socket Layer) certified which allows us to offer greater online
security and help our customers to fight phishing and pharming.

It's easy to tell if a site is protected by an EVSSL certificate:

  1. "https" appears in the address
  2. There's a padlock displayed next to the address bar
  3. The address bar turns green

The principle behind SSL encryption:
- The browser connects to a secure site, a unique encryption key is then put into place for the duration of the transaction between the server and the browser.
- The browser sends the encrypted data to the server, which alone is able to decipher the data received thanks to the use of a unique encryption key.
- The server sends a notice of safe receipt of the data that validates the identity of the user.

Install a compatible browser to benefit from SSL:
You must have a compatible browser:

- Mozilla Firefox 3 : download / update
