Yes, Philadelphia, yet another national retailer has joined the ranks of High Street shops in the Rittenhouse neighborhood.
Now open in the 1700 block of Walnut Street, Timberland joins Century 21, Nordstrom Rack, Uniqlo and Goorin Brothers in making its Philadelphia debut this month.
Truly, Philadelphians have a special affinity for ’Timbs (you know, the nickname for Timberland boots), so it makes perfect sense that a Philly Timberland flagship store should open in the heart of the city.
The flagship shop, though, may surprise those who haven’t shopped the brand in recent years.
Not just for yellow boots anymore, these days Timberland deals in a complete lifestyle line, and the brand-new store on Walnut Street stocks a ton of great boots, yes, but also sharp clothing and accessories for both men and women.
A keen attention to detail has long contributed to Timberland’s appeal — the famous yellow boot is made up of more than 35 components and an intricate construction — and the Fall 2014 footwear and apparel collections available at the Walnut Street shop all display tailored elements, high-quality materials and all-weather styles.
Open daily, the store has the complete Fall/Winter collection stocked. Our picks? Look for the all-weather footwear from the waterproof Earthkeepers line (winter-weather ready!), heeled lace-up boots for gals, versatile blazers for guys and the high-end, handcrafted boots from the Timberland Boot Company line, which is all made in America from super-high-quality leather.
And remember, Philadelphia (along with the rest of Pennsylvania) is tax-free when it comes to clothing and shoes!
All the more reason to go stock up on new ’Timbs.
