Ignore all those catchy marketing campaigns that “tell” you what the new black is. Black is forever the new black, and everybody’s favourite solid colour is back in the fold thanks to Timberland’s latest collab with Japanese menswear label SOPHNET. for an Asia exclusive capsule collection.
The collection, titled “EXPLORE THE UNKNOWN”, consists of six items, including specially designed footwear and apparel, although the crème de la crème of it all comes in the form of the iconic Timberland six-inch premium boots, albeit with that SOPHNET. touch.
A zipper on the boots’ inner quarter panels and its sleek matte black finishing is where the Japanese label displays its penchant for minimalism, but style isn’t the only play here. The boots have plenty of functionality as well, having been crafted from waterproof nubuck leather, with a rubber sole fitting everything together.
Other items in the collection consist of vintage Timberland goods, ranging from outdoor tees to checkered shirts, and even a half-zip sweat hoodie. Of course, the SOPHNET. influence comes from modern silhouettes, as well as the eye-catching graphics with 90s-style typography.
But sorry ladies, this exclusive capsule collection only carries items for the guys. That said; if you feel like pimping up your significant other, you won’t go too wrong over here.
The six-inch premium boots are currently retailing for $399 and is available at Timberland’s Raffles City, 313@Somerset, and Marina Bay Sands’ outlets, while the shirts are priced from $79 to $279 and will launch from October 28 onwards.
